Rider release new EP 'Your Motion' for FREE download.

Rider have released their third EP to date, which is now available for free download from www.riderband.co.uk
The three track CD is the result of many months hard work by the band, who started writing for the release in January.

Synopsis

Released in June 2008, Your Motion is without a doubt the bands most commercial release to date. Your Motion and Mechanical Silence are best described as edgy guitar driven rock soaked in radio-friendly melodies. Recovery is a slow rock ballad which gathers pace throughout, ending with a truly outrageous riff and heavy vocals.

 

Rider are down to the final 5 bands in a competition which could see the band support none other than stadium rockers 'Bon Jovi'.

Rider play The Water Rats (Monto) in London on Saturday 21st June 2008, and to make the whole thing go off with a bang, were hiring a coach to transport our fans.

Rider have been confirmed to play this years Glastonbudget Music Festival, in Wymeswold near Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire.

Glastonbudget is Europes largest tribute band festival, running over three days from 23rd, 24th and 25th May 2008.

This year Rider are performing on the 'New bands' stage on Sunday 25th May.

If you are looking for somewhere to go over the spring bank holiday, look no further. This festival is ideal for families and children, and the entertainment and value for money is second to none.

Yesterday we had the photoshoot ready for the release of our new EP which we are due to record in the last two weeks of April.

Once again we hired the fantastic Chris Denner (www.chrisdenner.com) to take the shots, as he did such a good job of the last lot for 'Afterthought'.

This time we decided to avoid the moody looks into the camera and go for something a little different. Photos will be up as soon as we receive them back from Chris.

Thanks also to Bob at Quad Studios Leicester who let us use his facilities for the shoot.

Within the past week, we have also been busy organising gigs so that you lovely people can hear our new tracks in a live situation. New dates are:

10th May - The Golden Cross, Coventry
13th May - Escape Bar - Coventry
25th May - Glastonbudget Festival (www.glastonbudget.co.uk)
22nd June - Pop in the Park, Market Bosworth

We are also currently in talks about a gig down in London..for which we will hopefully be hiring a 49 seater coach. Prices and details for the coach trip will be put up here as soon as we confirm things.

Midlands based Rock band 'Rider' have been on vox.com for some time now, we have some great tunes uploaded (in our opinion), some great photos, and even links to some youtube videos... one thing we don't yet have is comments :-(

Hi - we are Rider...

a five-piece rock band from Leicester/Coventry UK. 

We have been playing together for just over a year and in that time have performed many, many times around the Midlands and London in pubs, clubs and dedicated live musuic venues, building a following and name for ourselves and our music in the process. 

In our short time together we have released two self funded EP's; Rider and more recently 'Afterthought'. Our three most recent tracks are available to listen to right here on Vox.com. Both EPs are available for FREE download from our official website - www.riderband.co.uk.

We recently won a west-midlands battle of the bands competition organised by local radio station, 'Touch FM' gaining maximum points in the heats, quarter finals and the final round.
